Yupz!!

I have learnt this lesson in the week 13 of my third sem!
Although I need to study for my final exam, I am still lingering on my CCA. LOL

According to my job scope, I manage the duty roster for my new student lounge. Previously, the student hub is suddenly terminated after one day of opening because of safety measure.

Then, one week later. NUSSU person who in charge of the student hub told me that the student hub will open on Wednesday. We dicussed about this for several minutes. However, after the discussion was over, I still did not know whether the duty roster need to be carried out as the student hub opened. Not knowing what should I did, I ASSUMEd that the duty roster needed to be ongoing!

Then, I sms-ed to my members about this news. However, one hour before the duty roster was ongoing, the NUSSU person-in-charge informed me that the student hub was impossible to open because she had not granted the permission to open the student hub.

Of course I felt disappointed. Well, this feeling was not because that there would be no duty roster. It is because I had not discussed deeply with my chairman. I just simply jumped to my conclusion. As a consequence, it was clearly a waste a time! I spent my time to prepare everything but finally it is in vain!!

"There will be always a lesson if you find to do so" In this event, I learn that I need to discuss about the issue before taking any decision (at least, discuss it to more-experience person)

Okay then! I finishe it here and I believe that there would be a new lesson in the future!!

A change in my life!

I experienced the lesson in the week 13 of the my sem 3 in NUS. I have never thought that to be a leader is not so easy task! However, I really loved my position although there are a lot of things waiting to be carried out. I believe that I am able to overcome my tight schedule because of the environment around me. I am always given some advice so that I may learn from it. I feel so proud and sorry conssecutivly since my colleagues around me are so patient to give me some advice although the mistakes are silly though!

Therefore, I promise that I am going to improve myself to be a BETTER man in the future!

In addition, I've never thought that leadership skill is so wonderful!! :)

"Leadership skill is like a durian. It is hard to open to make use of it. Keep trying to open it and you will find the sweetest fruit in it!!"

Harris, practice by yourself before Tutorial 2 [Oooopsss]

Was this statement a kind of critic? I think so; in the first impression.

This statement was told by my TA of ME2103 in my first tutorial (!!) Yep, today, tuesday I got ME2103 tutorial. I think that this is the most confusing modules in my semester. Well, the problem does not base on its difficulty; it bases on what should the students learn. In the lecture, I think the materials is like an IQ-test. So, it does make sense that I am reall blank what is going on in the tutorial. Moreover, I kept wondering what did I do for such 3-long-hour tutorial.

Ok, I found the tutorial room on time. But, I saw no tutor coming in for 15 minutes until then I realized that the tutorial was in the next room. Yeah, it was common because that was the first tutorial. Now, relaz and start to turn on the computer! Darn! I found that the computer processed so slow and I might say that I am the last person to open solidworks! Then, here came my "bad" experience for ME2103 tutorial.

After successfully open the solidworks, I was left behind from the TA's teaching. Then, I kept asking for the tutors. I am not sure whether the TA was happy with my questions but for sure I felt the TA was getting fed up with my questions. After several bombardments of questions from me, the TA started to ask if I was prepared before the tutorial. He also asked me whether I havve entered the lecture.

Nah, this question really striked me and I was hardly sure what should I do. If I tried to apple-polish the TA, the TA will know that I was lying for sure. If I tried the truth, the TA may be angry. However, I think it was better to do the latter since he would know that the others did not prepare for it.

Surprisingly, the result was not I thought. He responded, well a little bit of threatening, that I would not keep up with the future tutorial. Well, I felt disatisfied with the anger and a little bit angry too at the same moment. From that moment, I tried to do myself and asked a friend besides me. To the amazement, he also did not really know what did he do!! I asked if he prepared for it and he answered NO!! It keeps me angry but I tried to follow the TA's instructions. Because I had no mood in asking the TA, I kept sticking my friends beside because I found that another friend beside him did well.

However, I found that something could not be asked with my busy friends. So, I started asking for the TA but with fewer frequency for sure. After a while, I began to understand about the topic and I was able to follow up the instructions. Even, I was able to help my friends beside me!! XD

After the tutorial session, suddenly I heard my TA said to me. "Harris, practice by yourself first before Tutorial 2", he said smilingly. Well, two things struck my mind at that time. First, how come that he knew my name? Second, he was smiling when he told that!! I am not sure about the meaning, so that I answered it smilingly, "Yes, Sir"

Well, struck with his kind feeling, I found guilty about myself. Truly speaking, I thought that I am really slacked off for this last three weeks. I kept sleeping late at night. Then, as a result, I was not able to concentrate with what the lecturer said. To make it worse, I even frequently did not take my lecture notes. In addition, I did not catch up with it!!

Now I realize that I need to change!! To make it come true, I hereby make a resolution:
1. Go to sleep early. I tried to go to bed at 12 am.
2. Catch up with my lecture. I need to spend more time in reading my lecture notes!
3. Eat nutritious food and drink a lot. I think that I really did not take care of my health formerly.

Well, I will promise that this would not happen again in the future!!!

however
i did not really pay attention to the previous lectures

however, there is still a new hope
it is just week 4
9 weeks more to go

yay!!
I believe I could do my best for this semester!!
I believe I could be able to pull up my CAP significantly!!
I believe I could do well for my CCAs!!
I believe I would give my best contribution to my CCAs!!

Last but not least,
I believe I could buy Iphone using my owen money :p

My predicted CAP for semester 2

Well, tomorrow will be the execution day for my exam result. I presumed that my CAP will go down from those in the semester 1. My calculation showed that my estimated CAP is 4.053; decline from 4.26. Here is my prediction:

EG1108	A

PC1432	B+
EG1413	C+

Well,you can see that i predicted C+ for my EG1413. I did not expect high from this module. My gut feeling said that the result will be not far different from EG1471.

What a weird calculator

Well, this is an experience about my PC1432 exam. This module teaches about electricity, magnetism, and quantum physics. There was a question asking the student to find probability of electron. However, I got the answer about 3..... I thought it is impossible according to rule said that the probability should be in range of 0 to 1, thus I tried to see my calculation. However, I found no mistake in it. Not knowing what was wrong with my calculation and the exam time was going to over, I just wrote the 'wrong' answer. After thinking few moments after collection of answer book, I found that there was something wrong in my calculator process. When I pressed 1/2phi, the answer was 1.5070796327. I felt awkward in this result, and I realized that the calculator execute the operation with 1/2 * phi. Well, I borrowed this calculator from my friend and the type is canon fx-991 ES while my usual calculator is casio fx-3650P. I felt disappointed but I got the lesson from it. I hoped that I could prevent this accident in the future.

Miss USA event was held at Theatre for the Performing Arts in Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino inLas Vegas, Nevada on April 19, 2009.. However, I watched it in youtube on 21st April 2009. I really found it is quite exciting especially in the evening gown event. I think that the music - Untouched by the Veronicans- and the arrangement of the pageants is really PERFECT. Can you spot the gesture of the pageants in the beginning of the song? Well, I think that it is the greatest and nicest part!! :)

The Miss USA 2009 comes to Miss North Carolina Kristen Dalton. I think that she was spectacular that night and she deserved to get position of Miss USA 2009. Let's talk a bit about the selection of Miss USA. The candidates are judged from performance in swimsuit, in evening gown, and their response of the question. Well the question comes from the MC and the jury. I found that Kristen Dalton's response in the question 'What makes you beautiful?' is really fantastic. She said that it depends on her attitude toward the others and how the others respond to it. I think it is like second Newton law. When you want to be beautiful, let the others know that you are beautiful.

There was a controversial response of Miss California Carrie Prejean which was asked by Perez Hilton which is known as gay freelancer.

Here is the response:

Perez Hilton: “Vermont recently became the 4th state to legalize same-sex marriage. Do you think every state should follow suit. Why or why not?”

Prejean: “Well I think its great that Americans are able to choose one or the other. We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage. Well, naturally there should be a conflict in it. However, it could not be helped. I think it is better to be honest rather than to lie. I do not say to against gay, but each person has its own right to decide, right? :)

In August 2009, Kristen Dalton is going to compete to achieve Miss Universe. I am not sure whether Kristen Dalton will get Miss Universe position, but I wish that she will try her best since Miss USA 2007 and 2008 did not perform well - they slipped when they performed onstage!

A DREAM

Have you ever thought several times in spending your money?

Have you ever thought not to spend your money because you concern about your needs in the future?

Have your ever wondered how long does it take to earn money which you have spent?

I think that these questions may not be considered important for all people especially the affluent. However, these questions have been in my mind since I was child. Can you imagine how does it feel when you are not able to afford something that you desire? Can you imagine that the only way that you are able to have it is by visualizing the affluent buy and enjoy it? I believe the image is really an excruciating pain. Sometimes, you will blame God on the suffering. Another thing is you feel desperate and simply accept it as your fate. The feeling is going to be mixed up with anger, afraid, and powerless. If you have tried to consult to another person, the positive advice which will come from his mouth is NEVER GIVE UP!! Unfortunately, when your feeling is in gloom and doom, it is impossible to agree and accept it. You will think that all things that you do is in vain.

If you meet the case, all you need to do is to GIVE UP!! Nevertheless, you should not keep all your gloom feeling. Instead, you have to keep on searching and exploring the truth of "NEVER GIVE UP" in it. Sure you will feel "deadlock" in the first time, second times, third times, more and more. But, I believe, as long as you still believe the magic word- NEVER GIVE UP- albeit in a minuscule intensity, I am sure one day you will feel that the word, indeed, has its magic in it. Recently, I am now in this state although my feeling is still imbalance. But, sooner or later I believe that I am going to make clear my decision. I believe that I will be able to spend my money without any feeling of hesitation. I also believe that I am able to achieve anything that I desire. It should be stressed that it does not need to be necessarily rich to be able to achieve it - although it is still in a 'rich' category. There is a slight difference being rich and being able to achieve things that you desire. When you are able to achieve the things you like, there is a happiness in your life; taken from Chris Gardner's inspiring movie, it is PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS. Conversely, to be rich may be having a lot of money but being not able to spend or even to enjoy it. It is like you miss something important though you have achieved your ambition.

Well, just like other people, I have a lot of dreams which have not been realized. One of them is I wish that I would be rich and happy. One way which I think the dream will come true is by setting up companies. Perhaps, one of them is a company which produce metal or financing company, just like Warren Buffett has. My another dream is I wish that I was able to let my parents lessen their burden not to keep worrying about my sister's future and mine. Moreover, I wish that I would take my parents travelling around the world; I think this is one of my childhood's dream- travelling around the world. I also wish that there was nothing to worry about things in the future. There would be no worry in everything that I do whether in time, money, and care. There is one dream which i think it is quite important. I wished that I was able to share this happiness with the others who are unfortunate. I would like to give them motivation that they will change themselves in a better life.

It is good to have many dreams. However, simply dreaming on it is not enough to realize it. It is like you make wonderful sand castles and you wait for the waves to sweep the castles. I have to take an action, however small it is, soon. Due to my still imbalance feeling, I still am not able to move it in a significant way. However, I believe that I am able to make a firm decision in it. People may think that my dreams are just dreams. But, in the future I will show to them that I am able to grasp my dreams. I will show them that 'All of your dreams are impossible, however, you have to DREAM the IMPOSSIBILITY to achieve it!!!'

I am not quite sure about this test. But, I am quite happy with the section of Who is your true self. I hope that I really have a full of energy and confidence since recently I thought I lost my spirit which I am not sure where did it come. In addition, I agree on the section of Your view of yourself. It is said that I listen to both sides of argument before taking a decision. However, I think this method sometimes makes get me troubled because it urges me to be meticulous. I hope that I could improve this drawback in the future.

An appetite at KE VII canteen

Today is Sunday, 19 October 2008. I usually hang out with my friends in the weekends. However, university life is going to be more tense day after day. In other words, there are many assignments that I need to do. Consequently, I am not able to go out of my residence even to take a stroll. But, it does not mean that I need to limit my eating around my residence canteen. Tonight, Prajnananda and I planned to have a dine at KE VII canteen. While Prajnananda had their meal at KE VII several times, this is my time to eat Hall canteen! I was eager to have some dine there because of Prajnananda's influence, more or less! We went there with Kelvin which stayed at KE VII (noted the similarity between his name and his residence lol!!). Frankly, I was a little bit disappointed with the price in the canteen! Nevertheless, I still had my dinner there. When it it is the first time the food came into my mouth, I realized that...... the money that I paid for the food is not in vain. The money I paid was paid off by the delicious food! I think that's all my story for this Sunday, 19 October 2008. I hopes that there will be another delicious food at other Halls' canteens. ^^y

My new life?

I have not realized that I have been in Singapore for more than three months. I also realize that many things have changed in my life especially for my routine. In my home country, I usually go to school by car. In contrast, I go to my faculty by bus. I need to wait for the bus coming. I sometimes need to chase the bus when going to the my faculty. Moreover, I usually take a walk especially I miss the bus. Compared with my home country, I seldom take a walk. All I need is to use a car wherever I want to go. As a result of frequent walking, I think that I am easily hungry although I have taken my meal which is usually a heavy one. Furthermore, I need to be able to take care of myself here. I need to wash my cloth myself, plan for tomorrow's activity, and many more. At first, I feel worried with it. But, as the time goes on, I think that I can handle it. It makes me to be more independent. I am also really excited with the community at the university. I am able to make new friends - although I spend most time with my friends with same country. I think that I need to make more friends from other countries especially China, European country, American country, etc. It will make my mind open with the new things that I need to discover. I may learn new languages, something about their culture and many more.

I think that university life really change me to be better little by little !! NUS-> DARE TO DREAM DARE TO HOPE DARE TO SUCCEED!

Hi this is my first post.
Today on 5 august 2008,I joined flag day held by NUS.
Actually I came as illegal flagger.
Why?
It is because I was not invited to join the program.
But william,arthur who came from china n I insisted on taking part in the program.
Fortunately,there was a hope.
That is KELVIN or vixklen...wkkk...
He stayed at KE VII hall (dont know the meaning?ask ur NUS scholar wkkk)..
The hall has made a flag day n we asked Kelvin to take us too...
Kelvin simply said to come only...
Finally,we came to meet Kelvin but we missed the morning flag day because we wake up late wkkk...
Before we began to flag in the afternoon,we and the otherKEVII's member went to KFC for lunch hehehhe....
I saw that many of us were going to tired...
After having some rest(around 1 hour),we started to flag..
Based on the plan,Kelvin and I went to cedar girls secondary school..
But there was another group wanted to change the site with me..
Kelvin just said 'whatever'....
So we did not go to cedar school but tomustafa center...
I found that it is not really interesting because I might say there were a few donators only...
Moreover,we are tired of standing without any improvements came hehehe..
Finally at 3 pm Kelvin phoned and reported to his Grandmaster that Mustafa was not the right place.
So,the grandmaster called the others in mustafa to change another site.
Unfortunately,I could not join them in the new site because I was going to woth my friend to go to Suntec city and Vivo City hehehehe....
When my friend and I were going back to PGPR,we met the KEVII's member having finished their flag.
They seemed tired but they were excited because they had done a good job.
I missed the happy moment I thought.
BUT I hope I would not the happy moment in the next year.
Go FLAG DAY 2009!!
